Ms. Niki Stefanidou is the Head of the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece in Bangkok. Her Office also covers Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and, up until recently, Singapore. LSE graduate and life-long scholar, Accredited Mediator by the Hellenic Ministry of Justice, as well as Accredited National Executive Staff by the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection, she has an extensive and diversified background in finance, economics, marketing and relative fields, both in academic as well as professional terms.
Ms Stefanidou acquired solid professional experience in the private sector for almost a decade, before joining the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2008 as Officer for Economic and Commercial Affairs. During her term at the Ministry’s Central Offices, in Athens, Ms Stefanidou, was first appointed at the Office of the Secretary General for International Economic Affairs, later becoming the Ministry’s Officer for the bilateral economic and commercial relations of Greece with all S. East Asia countries, with a special focus on ASEAN.
In the meantime, also before assuming her current duties in Thailand, Ms. Stefanidou served a four-year term at the Commercial Section of the Embassy of Greece in New Delhi, India, monitoring as well the markets and economies of Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, hence acquiring valuable insight and hands-on experience on the Asian economic reality and the potential for business synergies presented therein.
